It’s been a great couple of weeks for Salisbury Athletics. Salisbury’s Women’s Lacrosse has made a huge comeback from a rough start of the season. On March 22, they beat No. 2 Cortland 13-11 and on March 25, they beat No. 1 Franklin & Marshall 8-7. Even without some of their top defenders and scorers being out due to injuries, the remaining seniors and underclassman have stepped up to bring the Gulls back into top 5 standing. Their next CAC action will be against Christopher Newport University on April 7th.
The Salisbury Baseball team remains undefeated and has been ranked in the No. 1 spot in the media poll and No. 3 in the coaches’ poll. Over the weekend they beat Gallaudet 16-1 and then swept Penn State Harrisburg in a doubleheader on Monday afternoon. Senior Kyle Hayman was awarded ECAC NCAA Division III South Player of the Week this week with a .700 batting average and a 1.500 slugging percentage. The team will see CAC action as they take on Christopher Newport University on Thursday, April 2 at 3pm.
Track and Field Junior Luke Campbell has added a fifth individual National Championship to his resume. He did this in just three seasons on the indoor 600- meter hurdles. He was also named an All American along with sophomore Meghan McGowan.
